Jessica J. Black, Ph.D.

Dr. Black is a licensed clinical health psychologist specializing in trauma and behavior change. This includes addictive behaviors and weight management. She provides individual psychotherapy to adolescents and adults, utilizing a client-centered approach. Dr. Black has strong training in motivational interviewing (MI); and, is certified through the VA medical system to provide cognitive processing therapy (CPT) for individuals struggling with past trauma/s. In addition to working with adults in a variety of settings, she has substantial experience working with adolescents and young adults as well as with children on problem-focused treatment (e.g. weight management). She received her doctorate from the University of Cincinnati, completed the required predoctoral internship at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA, and finished an elective postdoctoral specialization in adolescent mental health through the Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic (WPIC) at the University of Pittsburgh.
